The K.A.R.M.A. FUND
Kindness and Respect for More Animals
“The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.”
Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
Mission: The K.A.R.M.A. Fund is dedicated to education, support and public awareness efforts to increase kindness and respect for the companion animals who share our lives.
The K.A.R.M.A. Fund, aka The KARMA Fund, is a private, non-profit organization, formed for the purpose of raising funds to support and promote efforts to increase kindness and respect for companion animals. These public benefit programs are varied, and may range from providing food and basic vet care for a needy senior citizen to foster care for a family pet during escape from a domestic violence situation to support of low cost spay/neuter programs or microchip programs to help identify lost animals after a hurricane. The K.A.R.M.A. Fund seeks to help animals and their human companions through education.
KARMA is funded solely by contributions and welcomes all donations to support these important programs. The KARMA Fund is a component fund of The Community Foundation of Southeast North Carolina, a publicly supported charitable organization as described in Section 170(c) and 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Philosophy: We believe that animals can enhance the lives of humans and promote a better world for all of us. Our commitment is to open hearts and minds through education and awareness of animal care and related issues. We promote shelter adoptions, life-long and loving homes for all animals, and spay/neuter responsibility. We believe that education will create more loving homes for existing animals and lessen the number of litters born by choice or accident.
Goal: Our goal is to educate the public, promote loving adoptions and to help meet and support animal-related community needs.
